Our Therapist

Benjamin Amendolara, MD

Dr. Benjamin Amendolara is a Los Angeles–based psychiatrist whose passion for trauma-informed care and community-focused healing shapes every aspect of his practice. After earning his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, he completed his psychiatric residency at UCSD. He has earned multiple teaching awards and been published in the journals Science and Journal of Neuroscience for his groundbreaking neuropsychiatric research. Dr. Amendolara currently serves as a street psychiatrist at The People Concern on Skid Row. He also maintains a private practice, where he combines evidence-based treatment with a holistic view of emotional and social well-being.

Dr. Amendolara was trained in grief therapy, and he is acutely aware of the profound effects of the recent Los Angeles wildfires and the personal losses individuals have endured. His group therapy sessions offer a supportive, intentional space for participants to share experiences, process grief, and cultivate community bonds. By helping individuals recognize their collective strength and discover unexpected sources of hope, Dr. Amendolara believes that true healing happens when people come together to support one another.

Jill Horn is a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) student at the University of Southern California with a deep passion for holistic health, community health promotion, and fostering solidarity. She believes in the profound connection between the body, mind, and soul and is dedicated to creating spaces where individuals and communities can heal, thrive, and support one another.

Driven by her commitment to public health and mental well-being, Jill designed and developed Space to Process, a mental health support initiative for individuals affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. The project provides resources, guidance, and a compassionate community for those navigating the emotional and psychological aftermath of disaster. With a focus on resilience, connection, and holistic healing, she hopes the project will give participants a safe space for healing, and empower them to rebuild their lives with strength and community support.

Jill possesses an unwavering dedication to fostering a caring, healthy, and thriving community. Through her studies and projects, she continues to advocate for integrative approaches to health and well-being, ensuring that no one has to face adversity alone and is provided with access and resources for healing.
